Rain

It’s raining outside
As it adds to the music
Men in suits, women in tops and skirts
Some umbrellas open, some people rush to the nearest shelter
As it rains and the music plays.
Symphony.
It’s the grandest music one would ever hear
The streets and homes are washed
And the earth smells new
The city lights are a pretty sight
As clouds warm the sky in view
It rains and the music plays
What did rain bring with itself?
A reason to moist your soul
Make one less rock, more lifelike
The music makes you larger than you knew
Yet in your torso
You could wash at least one unwanted yesterday that Sunshine wouldn’t heal
Rain could hide me in view
And the song makes you something you are not. For a needed moment.
I see a wet dog.
As it rains and the music plays.
