The Circus comes to town
Little men dressed as clowns
A lion in a cage
Trapeze artists on the stage
Swinging right, left
Up and down
The elephant’s underground.
Veneer on their petty lives
Sugarcoated to survive
Laugh on them for you’ve paid
This world, do they narrate?
The Circus hits the town
As varied as our earth
A parole to human birth
Wanting rhythm and rhyme
The Circus hits the town
The lights, the colours,the smoke
Let’s make life a joke
The wolves, they will survive
The sheep, they will abide
And die.
The Circus comes to town.
